I don’t think they will get that far. Once you’ve had two money-maker failures....the whole machine will stop (even those about to start production). You might see another one or two come out (because they were already in production), but there will be a couple of folks let go, and the review will bring everything back to a ‘norm’.
They’ve got enough material and characters via Marvel...to put out a dozen movies per year, and clear a minimum of a billion dollars in profit.

It’s not THIER money they are burning, they get paid regardless at the end of production, so virtue signaling with someone else’s money doesn’t cost them a dime.
And the board members paying for it are too intimidated, and tonafraid of wrecking their own careers to speak out against it.
