Yes. And the influence of these 60’s people was bad.
I read a book titled “Hotel California” about all the startups that came to fame in the mid 1960’s in places like the Troubadour.
Truly a fascinating book. If the adult me could go back to that time with my current bass and guitar playing skills and an understanding of where all this stuff actually went, I’d be a household name today. Easy peasy.
i.e. it didn’t really take all that much.
That being said, some were simply destined to be famous (coupled with the opportunity of that day). Folks like Linda Ronstadt and those that could write really good songs and master their instrument/voice.
But those days are gone, just as the days you could head west in a wagon and claim a bunch of prime real estate are gone. Each time has it’s own opportunities that are easy to spot in hindsight.
