I always wanted to play the bass. I figured since I can type 90+ words per minute, how hard can it be.....fail.
I dont know why I chose the bassoon when I was a kid. Not exactly a chick magnet. Couple that with my love of Rush. Then finish it off with my Dungeons and Dragons activity. I just stacked the chips against myself, I suppose.
It’s NEVER too late to take up an instrument, especially bass where knowing what *NOT* to play and utilizing the power of a few well chosen notes gets more appreciation than being able to play complicated stuff fast.
I like the analogy to golf. Can you start when you’re 60 or 70? Hell yes. Are you ever going to be a world-class professional? Probably not. can you get good enough in a year or two of serious study to be able to play with a group of friends on the weekend and have fun? Heck yeah.
