Trump’s lawyers threatened to sue him. There are several threads here already about it. Even with the threat, he still only apologized for reporting it before it was vetted, and claims that there’s still no proof it’s inaccurate.

Still waiting on the proof O’donnell isn’t a molester of little boys. An unconfirmed report on the Internet says he is, so he needs to prove it false, or we can only assume it is true.
That is not the standard. It is slander per se and the burden to prove it's accuracy rests on the person who broadcast it.
