We dumped our landline a couple of years ago and no longer have that problem.
They randomly generate numbers to call in the hopes of finding a sucker. It is not dependent on the type of line you have. I’ve only had a cell phone for the past 21 years and get scammers calling several times per day.
So you went with no phone at all. Because, guess what? After awhile you will get them on your mobile too. I get about 3 or 4 of those types of calls a day. If a call comes in from someone not in my contact list, it goes straight to voicemail. Then I quickly looked at the transcribed voicemail and delete the scam ones about as fast as they come in. Just part of my normal routine. I fully expect it to get to 10 or more per day at this rate.
I too have no landline. Haven’t for a long time.
I get about 3 scam calls a day on my cell phone.
I get those same %^%$% calls on my cell phone, several times a month.
The call back numbers are phony of course. People who investigate this stuff tell me that most of the calls originate outside the United States.
They are also happening on cell phones as well. Im getting around 2 to 4 calls per day. I block the numbers and they call back with new digit. Count your blessings if you are not getting them...yet.
We don’t have cell service here in the brush so we have to have a landline or no phone at all.
When I am bored scammers can be entertainment.
