The 1400s to 1500s were not “ancient times.” That was the Middle Ages.
More like the the Renaissance which spanned the 14th and 17th centuries. The Middle Ages lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. So there was a bit of overlap in how scholars label these eras.
Except there was no “Renaissance” in South America.
Well, ‘Middle Ages’ in Europe.
Different empires, different timelines; those years would have been the Ming Dynasty in China, very late in their history
But it seems to be what would be the equivalent of the early Roman empire in it’s development, even though 1500 years later.
A very interesting article. We should be thankful that the Incas and Aztecs remained pre-technological!
Actually that was the start of the Rennaisance in Europe.
