I'm sure this has been covered, but that got me to thinking about Dorothy's ruby slippers. Does this stuff go back that far? Public eye, I mean.

It's reported by smarter people than me that there are all kinds of occultic/mind control symbols in the Wizard of the Oz, both in the book and the movie. Though, in particular, the ruby shoes are unique to the movie. Also the author L. Frank Baum was a member of the Theosophy Society. If you are not familiar with that group, you should research that and Madame Blavatsky who started it.
