I find it best to NOT engage with these people. To me, it’s like taking on someone with a serious mental issue. They have no ability to be rational when it comes to this president - Trump Derangement Syndrome is REAL.
I voiced my opinion at a small gathering in July. I was aware (because of social media) that one of the women was a rabid Trump hater, but I didn’t care because I was pretty sure the others at the gathering were more or less not against President Trump. Well, when I said “Best President Ever”, she was overcome with this irrational hate. Her face contorted. She couldn’t spew her hate fast enough. Her words couldn’t keep up with her thoughts. I just smiled through it - I got some defense from the other (stunned) guests. They all were a little apprehensive, but managed to say he’s the first president that has followed through and fulfilled his promises.
It’s an amazing thing to see how much hatred the media has put into people. I ponder now and again about how people (my own son is one of them) can be so influenced by what they hear on tv. It’s like they have spot in them ready and waiting for someone to hate, and the media comes along and fills it. It’s weird.
They are pouring poison in everyone’s ears nonstop. It is dangerous and reprehensible. And, I find my otherwise intelligent friends buy it. Very sad.
