Your friend may be an exception, but when they interviewed 1,400 of the bums living in the Santa Ana River Bed before they kicked them out, 92% of them REFUSED housing. They want to live there. They do not want to go to housing where they have to follow rules - no drugs, take a shower....

This is the case with most of the homeless living in CA - they want to be there, they won't go to housing.

I understand that most of the homeless in the CA big cities are drugies, who don’t want to clean up, and many mentally unstable, who fear sleeping in shelters and such.

Not the same as folks who find themselves homeless because of hard times and need the help to have a roof over their heads.

Maybe its my over-worked mind Gub and I can't seem to stop talking for the homeless. You and I aren't running from something or someone. They can have MANY different things too. Once in government housing many will feel they are on the grid. They also might thank personal information will be taken from them without their consent. People make mistakes or have been framed...running from a dangerous spouse..family member..police...AWOL...whistleblower....life isn't neat but it has its many ups and downs.
