Japanese press entered at 3:11. Aides for both sides cane in a few minutes later. Then POTUS and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe entered the bilat room together at 3:14 from a side door and sat down. Lighthizer sat beside Trump.

Trump: “We’ve been working on a deal with Japan for a long time. And we’ve agreed in principle...billions and billions of dollars.”

He said Japan has agreed to buy a lot of the US corn surplus.

“We probably will be signing it around UNGA.”

Subject: Out of town pool report #17 — No spray of G7 session on partnerships with Africa

Pool is told that POTUS has joined the G7 working session on partnerships with Africa that began at 3pm, but because the availability with Abe ran long, we are unable to spray it for logistical reasons of some sort.

Pool is heading back to the casino/workspace.
