We didn’t have a TV until I was thirteen. And for fourteen years of my adult life didn’t own one. Have never seen Friends, & so many more from that time
I listened to all music but wasn’t a fan of any musician. While others were following their idol I was studying musicology, music literature and theory.
I was also studying artist and author that corresponds to the same genre.
I loved listening to bluegrass, the Beatles ,Beethoven and the Boys. Still do. MUsic has never been limited to one style of generic period. I love what ever moves me at the time. Sousa marches to Chopin to Elvis to Gaithers
We had very little fiction books in our home. (Heavy on certain classics). Chose to read Chaucer as a seventh grader. No one could talk me out of it. Translating from old English was “fun” A puzzle of sort. My interpretation was “interesting”. It was just something I discovered at a used book store.
Love a good mystery— Cat Who books. Favorite books are by a Hoosier author Alexander Thom. He writes very authentic history novels based on true stories. FOLLOW THE RIVER. Is my favorite. Read it straight through. All night. Couldn’t stop.
I sit back and read your youth and think how different mine was. Not by anyone choosing. Just that my drummer was playing a tympani and xylophone. And I was off in that world.
