So the Hyoid bone was broken and the ME said 'bones' (plural) were broken.
I ASSUME that could only mean the bones behind the Hyoid, as if the Hyoid was broken and driven back into the only other bones near it, behind.
That makes me think a significant amount of force would be required to accomplish that much breakage.
