NYT had an internal pow-wow and congratulated themselves on the great job they did with “Russian Collusion” but said they had to move on now to “Trumps a Racist”.
I don’t think they recognize anything.
It’s a single event or idea - in this case, event - that changes the trajectory of the entailed subject matter. So to speak. As it were.

Possible. Another idea is they are freaking over the bottom line and their jobs and want to turn their sliver of the market into a slightly larger sliver.
