The angelic hybrid race (Canaanites or nephilim) ruled the ancient world and were considered demigods. Greek mythology is based on their exploits. Their origin is spelled out in Genesis chapter 6. They took root in Canaan and the Lord ordered Josiah to kill them all but they didn't. The nephilim were corrupting the human gene pool in order to prevent the messiah from being born.

Could be. maybe a person can carry the nephilim gene but not manifest the physical traits. Idk. Some scholars think that Ham’s wife was a carrier and safely transported it to the post flood world. Many think that Nimrod, the great hunter, leader and builder of the Tower of Babel was nephilim.
