I don’t know who he cared about but there was probably someone. And they would be at risk.
His own future wasn’t woerth squat.

Blackmail can form a motivation for suicide. However, I was trying to tread lightly on the topic of potential motivations for suicide, because it is at the deep end of speculation. If you notice, I was addressing primarily the mechanics of how, not why. Sure Epstein might have killed himself to protect others. In my opinion however, this has no bearing on the mechanics. What am i missing?
Forget Blackmail.
Epstein was the blackmailer. He had the evidence against all “others”. The only caveat were his lieutenants, but even with them it would have been a Mexican stand off, one against the other, equally, and for the very same deeds.
Whom among “others” could exploit Epstein without exposing themselves?
After all, the
‘others” paid Epstein. What they paid him *For* was exactly what Epstein held as his trump card against them.
The “others” were stuck with only their check stub.
But, yes, his future was gone so he committed suicide, given the ample opportunity that the nice prison people afforded him. On their part, it’s called “Deliberate Indifference”, a legal term that applies, (at least in the state of NY).
Pedophiles have an increased risk of committing suicide. Period. Community big wigs, leaders, teachers, coaches and particularly High profile personalities of some renown often make the news by their suicide after being exposed.
