A pro-democracy protester waves a US national flag in Tsim Sha Tsui district | AFP

Hong Kong seem to be heading to a 'Tianenmen-like' situation with thousands of protesters thronging the streets. Chinese media had already warned of potential terrorism rising in the country and even accused the US of supporting the riots. A video posted on twitter shows pro-democracy supporters in Hong Kong waving the American flag adding to the fury of the Beijing-backed government.

You really want to go to the link for this article and see 4 protesters with American flags singing the Star Spangled Banner.

All day at work, I haven't been able to get China/HK off my mind.

We are warned of a possible Tienanmen incident ... but I am reminded more of the Free City of Danzig which existed as a semi-autonomous city-state 1920-1939, created by the Treaty of Versailles, and given to Poland (for external affairs) despite being a German city filled with people who did not want to be part of Poland.

Of course it was Hitler's Blitzkrieg on Poland, in large part focused on Danzig (and simultaneous with Stalin's invasion from the East), which triggered British treaties and commencement of WWII.

I'm speculating ... but I can well imagine PDJT sees a military crossing of swords with China as a probability if not a strategic necessity to permanently break the U.S. out of the fatal tailspin created by the globalist policies of the last 30 years and prevent eventual hegemony of China in the Far East vis a vis some of our great allies (Japan, SK, Taiwan etc).

President Trump cannot be seen as starting such a war.

Perhaps, like Churchill and Danzig, an invasion of HK by China might trigger it.

All speculation of course ... but I have a feeling that history is unfolding in Hong Kong.

THANK YOU FOR THAT BEAUTIFUL VIDEO YOU POSTED, BTW, of protesters in HK, at the RISK OF THEIR LIVES (eventual retribution), singing our great National Anthem.
