<< “ There wont be consequences for filing false red flag reports. “ >>
THAT is the Best argument, for sure, however, there was a report yesterday that such “false reports” can be redressed, protested, or even lifted over time. This is the American way and constitutional, to retain the right to defend yourself in any case, and that should be the way to get a mental background case legislated, when these cases are obvious. I know they are not always obvious.
The horrible Broward County, Florida case though and these recent mass shooters have a mental trail miles long that is developing by the day.
That mental trail record is going to get turned into law by mass acclamation, in the same manner as losing your driving license after a history is produced of any threatening behavior while drinking.
The mad have an obvious history of their madness and the no consequences to knowing it and saying nothing or let it fall through the cracks have cost too many lives. Just sayin’.
“there was a report yesterday that such false reports can be redressed, protested, or even lifted over time. “
Do you have the hundreds of thousands of dollars it will take to hire enough lawyers to do this?
Cuz most people don’t.
Ask Richard Jewell how that works...
And will do NOTHING to fix the problems discussed in that GAB post about what happens in real life with these types of laws.
Florida ALREADY has the Baker Act.
Ask yourself WHY that wasn’t used in the Florida shooter’s case?
Hmmm?
Because some of us are beginning to think the whole PURPOSE in allowing obviously insane people to be loose is to justify these sorts of laws...
Do you REALLY think Julian Castro’s presidency can be trusted with this sort of thing? Cuz demographically it’s an inevitability he or someone just like him will be president by 2030...
If you don’t think there are already ‘lock up the crazy person’ laws...I double dog dare you to threaten your neighbor with a chainsaw...
Let us know what happens to you...
Ouch,
at CNN town hall
Do you believe a woman should have the right to choose her method of self defense?
Two problems:
1) school police passing on troubled ute even after a lengthy trail of antisocial behavior.
2) F_I allowing troubled individuals to remain on the street in order not to lose their confidential informant status.
In both cases, you can be sure no intervention will take place until the unsub explodes.
