Someone at the top of a food chain somewhere needs to lose a job at least over this.

Disagree. It is gross negligence and the whole food chain needs to lose their jobs and worry about prosecution.

The Q preferred path is ripping jurisdiction from the DOJ and jails, to tribunals. If the courts really sought justice with Epstein, they could have put him somewhere safe. Precedence is set to bypass them.

Well, OK fine, I don't disagree with you.

Fire all their butts and put someone honest in charge of investigating it and prosecuting anyone involved in Epstein's demise. Suits me just fine.

At the top, though, someone gets sat down in front of whatever authority he answers to and gets to explain,

"Just how, in the F is it, that you didn't call in your subordinates at that prison and make it explicitly and emphatically clear to them: This prisoner is protected from harm, either from others or by his own hand, 24/7/365, and let it be known to all, this comes down from on high. Anything happens to this guy, you'll wish that the same happened to you before it's all over.

Your resignation is hereby accepted. Now GTFO."

All the other speculation about Machaevellian calculation about it really being best for everyone to look the other way while someone else murders the guy is bullhsit. This guy didn't get his day in court, followed by execution of his sentence, whether it's jail or something else, and justice was robbed - thanks to the government agency that runs the Federal prison, and especially whomever is at the top. An honorable man would have already resigned and taken his retirement.

"Tell us again about the school and your dad. Tell us again about the sentencing deal down in Florida. Tell us again about who in the hell's interests you're really looking out for."

That's what I would hope someone would be saying to someone else, say, tomorrow morning since it appears not to have been said yet.
