I think he has been rehabilitated. If I receive any complaints, I'll back off. That said, I think his wisdom (all quotes are from Charlie Chan movies) has much to recommended it on this thread or as Charlie Chan would say:

I was just snarking. He never did anything wrong. The ‘deeply problematic’ thing was that he was White playing a Chinese man and that couldn’t be allowed. No monolid, see?
