The point of mentioning the Serbsky Center is just to point out that there is a Constitutional problem with incarcerating the mentally ill; we don't just grab people considered 'ill' and put them away. There has to be due process.
Due process is a huge hurdle to the Dems and the Left, as we see with Justice Kavanaugh and Prez Donald Trump - the Libs want to determine who is guilty and who is innocent without due process... they know better than the Constitution.
That is where the problem arises. ☠️ If the Libs ever take total power in this country, you and I are on their short list. - - - It does present a sticky wicket. :)
I don't have a clear view of who pushed this particular allegation, but keep in mind that every institution at every level of government can be infested with liberals, or at least liberal spox and leadership.
I believe the announcement by one who ought to know in the eight-chan, that the manifesto got to eight-chan from instagram (shooter could have posted in more than one place, FWIW, making all the places toxic according to the rules), was made public two days AFTER the "blame eight-chan" narrative was advanced.
Also, it is 100% fact that all institutions are self-serving first, and will hide, omit, defend and deflect allegation that is unflattering to the institution. Even good and honorable institutions behave this way.
As for getting to the truth, that exercise is left up to the individual. No institution can be trusted to deliver it.

Donald Trump is enabling white supremacy—and Republicans are enabling him. And when Congress and the American people have tried to fight the gun violence epidemic, @SenateMajLdr has put the NRA first. If we want action, we need to take back the Senate and end the filibuster.
I agree - serious due process is essential.
But I will also state my position, which is generally applicable, not specific to this topic, and I have thought this for a long time:
Being opposed to legitimate governmental oversight of whatever kind - fed, state, local but esp fed - on the grounds that “if the Dems/commies get control of government they could use this against us/in a bad way” etc. is specious. Commies can use any good law and twist it, ignore laws they don’t like, and make up unconstituional laws, or just take actions without any legal back up whatever, to destroy their percieved enemies.
So worrying about actually needed governmental oversight because sometime in the future commies could misuse leads to “let’s get rid of all laws and government” and we know where that quickly leads.
Bitmitigate was next. Bitmitigate depended on voxility, so technically voxility is the business entity that denied access to eight-chan.
Yeah, it's disgusting how law enforcement pushed that manifesto. I watched the major news conference from El Paso and they mentioned the manifesto might be related to the shooter and from there all the derps and the enemedia ran with it.
With what the owner of 8chan tells us, LE knew right away it was posted by someone else on Instagram and weren't even sure it was from the shooter. So why even mention it if they knew all this right away. It was either very irresponsible of them or they needed to get the derp talking points and narrative out there. The LE in El Paso, just like those in the Parkland shooting, needs to be investigated.

"8chan" should be okay, but I am not sure it is. I think it should be okay becuase "8chan" even with .net or .com added is not the URL to the forbidden website.
I also suspect that a one-step removed indirect link is grounds for post removal. xample - link to a twitter post where the twitter post links to eight-chan is "too close for comfort" for some FR mods.
