I’ve likened this to waiting for D-day too. Over two freaking years, thats how long it took to put that operation together. Like they say about war: hours of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer stark terror.

I heard on the radio the other day a guest who had written a book on D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. She said that through the entire 77 days the battle went on, the German tank drivers always thought they had the upper hand.

First they laugh at you
then they smear you
then they beat you
then you win.

No, you don’t.

Not every state requires a check for private sales.

Many states allow private sales.

This would make those illegal.

THAT’s the problem.

EVERY sale would be recorded by the feds.

Ie, outlawing the ‘gun show loophole’ (which the libs have been after for more than a generation) would defacto create a database of who owned what.

Ie, registration.

Which is EXACTLY why the libs are lathered up over ‘background checks’.

I’m sorry your state is a defacto registration entity. Not all of us live in those nor do we want to live in one.

The libs wouldn’t be shrieking for ‘background checks’ if we ALREADY had background checks...

Think.

And as far a mental health is concerned. MOST Americans would be VERY surprised at what, exactly, is in their medical records. You just THINK experian has issues...and you have NO recourse to change your medical records if something is amiss. For example, I’m listed as a ‘heavy smoker’. I’ve never smoked anything in my entire life. But I’m just waiting to be denied healthcare because of that...it’s coming...

Ahh...this would mean fewer Red Cross buildings full of money.

Title: Defying Congress, Trump administration looks to shift billions in foreign aid

“WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump’s administration has ordered a review of foreign aid that critics fear could lead to sharp cuts in funds for global health, peacekeeping, narcotics control and other programs despite their having been approved by Congress.

The review was disclosed in an administration letter and confirmed by congressional aides.

Members of Congress, including some of Trump’s fellow Republicans as well as Democrats, have been pushing back against repeated Trump administration efforts to cut the amount of money Washington spends on foreign aid.

In April, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, often a close Trump ally, called the administration’s proposal for a 23 percent cut in the budget for foreign aid and diplomacy “insane” and said it would not pass.”

Q said the guns are safe.

What is this universal background check crap?

Everyone already gets FUBAR when buying guns, more licensing, more fees, more renewals.

Enough.

Great point Agnes.

Doctors and others can put anything in our official medical records. And any kind of mistake can be made whether by accident or not. Hell somebody having a bad day can do disaster to anyone.

Heaven forbid we ever give any agencies the chance again like the I_S had at the tea partiers.

Given the julian castro ‘outing’...imagine healthcare professionals just ‘adding’ stuff to your medical record. Because they can. Because your name shows up as having donated to someone they don’t approve of. You don’t really have any idea the politics of every healthcare professional you will see over the course of 5 or 10 years. Any/all of them can add whatever they want to your record. You have no recourse either.

Reuters Post-Debate Poll: Biden 22%, Bernie 18%, Warren 8% and Harris 6%….

Reuters/IPSOS conducted a poll [see here] following the second round of Democrat debates.  The latest results show Creepy stayed the same at 22%; Crazy gained 2 points and is now 18%.  However, Spank Me lost almost half of her support, now 6%; and Howdropped to 8%.  No-one else registers anywhere close to being a contender:

I don’t recall any about communism/socialism. I remember the “No More Kings” and the one about barter, but not socialism.

If she knows a shooting is coming she needs to call the authorities and tell them exactly what she knows, not blab on the net.

“Where’s the other 39%?”

Undecided. Democrats have trouble making decisions.

What is this universal background check crap?

Have not seen enough clear word-for-word reports of what Trump actually said to be concerned.

PLUS

Only way that's going to happen is if Congress makes a law....

...and as generally no-brainer/all talk and no action as that whole 435 knuckleheads in a row is, I don't think they could produce anything coherent, let alone dimly constitutional before Heck froze solid.....and then Trump would still have to sign the mess.

(Don't mind me if I fall down on the floor laughing now.)
