There was a trial in the Senate ... they didn’t have any witnesses testify, though, except for David [FORGET LAST NAME = Schiffers?] who was the lead investigator for the house impeachment managers.

This is an excerpt from last week's (3/18/00) interview by Larry Klayman and Tom Fitton with Dave Schippers, lead counsel in the Impeachment of Clinton.
Fitton: ……..and we have got someone who saw some of these Clinton scandals up close and personal and someone who unlike many others did their darndest to try to hold them accountable, right Larry?
Klayman: A great hero. A great friend. Someone that the nation owes a debt of gratitude to. This is somebody who I was talking about Tom, someone who puts his money where his mouth is, who wants to get the job done, who isn't a lot of hot air, who was there with Judicial Watch and Bob Barr during the impeachment proceedings, someone who wanted to succeed but who had his hands tied behind his back by a timid and cowardly Republican Party. He's a Democrat and we have to salute him, Dave Schippers.
Schippers: Hi. How are you Larry? I have to take issue on one thing. It wasn't the Republican party. It was the Republican leadership. They caved like an accordion.
