When W. j. Clinton was impeached by the House in 1998 the Republican controlled Senate refused to hold a trial. Why should McConnel do otherwise? Are 'rats truly above the law?

The Republican-controlled Senate did in fact hold a trial, and Clinton was acquitted by not getting 67 votes to convict on any charge.
