I took a Chinese made SKS off of a Viet Cong prisoner once.
It didn’t look that well made. That was in early 1970.

mine was $99 and was “select” grade
my gun safe got too stuffed, so i gave it to my brother a couple weeks ago, and several were for sale in the $700+ range
(I also gave him a nearly-new Hungarian-made thumbhole stock semi-AK-47)
