GILROY, Calif. (Reuters) - A California teenager was identified by police on Monday as the gunman who killed three people, including two children, at a food festival south of San Francisco. Santino William Legan, 19, cut through a fence at the festival on Sunday evening and shot at people with a AK-47-style assault rifle at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee told reporters. Within a minute of opening fire, Legan was fatally shot by three onsite police officers armed with handguns. It could have gone so much worse so fast, Smithee said, noting the festival, which takes place about 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Silicon Valley, Americas tech hub, welcomes thousands of visitors.

How did he get “60 rounds” off with an SKS and not get dropped during the reload?
I have an SKS with an AK 30 rd mag conversion and it is a lousy weapon of choice for mass killing. You can’t just dump the mag, pop in a new one, charge and fire. You kind-a-can, but nothing like an AK or AR and odds of a jam are off the chart.
It was probably the the last thought that went through his mind (right before the cop’s return fire)
Now they’re saying that it was a WASR-10.

These IDIOTS in CA. would know a squirt gun from an AR-15 GIVE ME A DAMN BREAK!!! We need a back ground check for ammo now so their laws are working marvelously/ s... IDIOTS!!!!
I heard SKS this morning on a news brief during the Brian Kilmeade radio show...It doesn’t surprise me that the news reporter wouldn’t know the difference between an SKS and a Nerf Gun....
Later in here, someone heard it was an “AK-47 type assault rifle”...The WASR-10 is definitely AK-47 type...
Next thing we’ll hear it was a Ruger 10-22....
