I feel the “female empowerment” culture has raised generations of women that are basically just “me me me”. One only has to think this through but they’re so short sighted. They believe they should “f**k who I want when I want” and be the “successful” career woman so everyone will say how “great” you’ve become.
Once you realize it’s not all as it’s cracked up to be it’s too late. You get one shot at these decisions, now she’ll only get lonelier and lonelier. It’s an epidemic, I have a family member that has made these choices. She has risen to a good position but one that provides very little mobility - few jobs like hers. If she loses this job she’ll have a hard time finding another. Now past child baring age she has few options in life. She’s stuck. What a horrible place to be.
Exactly. The same is true of men who put career ahead of their family, and is true of anyone who puts career ahead of becoming the best human being they can be. Everyone eventually dies. What do you want your life to be about? I've seen too many people 'of stature' come and go, and be forgotten (after some fawning retirement dinner of some sort). If you haven't built a personal life, and given love and help to people, you will be very lonely when the spotlight is turned off you and onto someone else.
FL, I work in a nursing home, and so many folks have NO ONE. Lonely people exist in the tens of millions in America, many of them thanks to disastrous decisions that they made in youth.
