The good news - physically unpleasant jobs and highly repetitive jobs will be replaced by the Universal Basic Income.
Also, the productivity explosion will lower the price of goods and services, which will be a follow-on benefit for the millions of unemployed Americans on UBI.
On the other hand, the 2020-2040 transition to a machine and AI software focused economy will be very disruptive and politically dangerous.
