Former FBI Director James Comey joined the chorus of critics lashing out at President Trump for his tweets venting at Rep. Elijah Cummings and calling the Democrat's Baltimore-based district a "disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess."
In a tweet making an appeal to voters, Comey said, "Millions of 2016 Trump voters are not racists. Now those Americans need the strength of character to resolve they will not again vote for someone who clearly is. It’s not about judges or taxes. It’s about who we are as a nation."
Comey, who was fired by Trump in May 2017, has been a vocal critic of the president ever since, calling for Americans to vote him out of office.
