Chelsea Clinton left the hospital today with her new son Jasper in tow, moments after her mother Hillary Clinton arrived to help her home.
Chelsea and her husband Marc Mezvinsky, 41, welcomed their third child on Monday morning, but the mother-of-three stayed at Lenox Hill Hospital on Manhattan's Upper Easy Side for three days before returning to her Gramercy apartment on Thursday morning.
The 39-year-old was photographed walking out of the hospital in a blue dress with white polka dots, beaming as she carried the swaddled newborn to the car.
Chelsea appeared in great spirits as she headed outside on the sunny New York City day with her new bundle of joy.
She wore a navy dress with tiny white polka dots that fell just above her knee — incidentally, the same dress she wore when she left Lenox Hill with her other son, Aidan, in 2016. (snip)

Around here if you have the baby on Monday you go home on Monday. You don’t get to treat the hospital like a spa for resting. I had my baby just after 6am. About 10 am a nurse came in my room and said...get ready to go home! By 11 I was out. Must be nice to be able to lounge around and be waited on for days.
I think you get a little longer here if the mother is older (Chelsea would qualify), and/or if the pregnancy was complicated or C-section delivery. Health insurance plans have details as to what is covered, stay lengths, etc.
Since the Clintons have plenty of money, there is probably no concern about the costs for a couple more days.
I read further down into the article. $2k per day and it is like a spa. I should’ve known. There’s no way the princess would’ve had her baby among the commoners.

I just saw the picture of Hillary’s mother. Good lord ugly runs very strong in that family. And Hillary has not improved with age.
Jasper will probably become a conservative when he grows up, just to spite the people “who give him that awful name.”

My d-i-l also had a child on Monday. Born at 10:14 a.m; they were home from the hospital by 4:00 p.m. the following day. Obviously, Chelsea is a wimp.
My new granddaughter is adorable, btw.
