I wonder if those people had bunkers built in NZ and Antarctica for a possible time when they may not be safe out in the public eye.

Nothing in the world more appealing to Attack/CAS types than large, high-value targets that have limited or no mobility.

Bury 'em and you're just cutting the mobility factor to zero after disturbing surface features during construction that basically paint a giant bullseye on your "bunker"...not to mention yoa$$.
