I stopped watching Dr. Who when they were going to bring on a woman doctor. End of that long series for me.
Why can’t women writers come up with roles that are really for women and stop screwing with our classics.

I think they do. Scanning through the cable guide today, on Lifetime there’s the movie, “Psycho Granny”. I guess that would be a role for a woman.
Dr. Who was another one I enjoyed when I could find it on TV. The older ones had good stories and plot lines. Love the Dalek. Once they started down the lesbian trail that was the end.
Several reasons. Developing characters from scratch is difficult. Most of the people trying to create these rainbow warrior characters aren't interested in the genre, (science fiction, super heroes, spy thrillers.) They're interested in virtue signaling. That means their characters are wooden, and spout the same SJW nonsense as the people who create them, and nobody wants to hear that.
In the original Fantastic Four, Ben Grimm, the Thing, was written as being Jewish. He didn't stand around shouting about being Jewish, it was just who he was.
OTOH, with the new Bond movie, this actress cannot be worse than Roger Moore. Moore was worse than Shemp. He was the Joe Besser of James Bonds.

Same here. I was the ultimate Doctor fan until that woman came along. I watched the first couple of shows and it was scripted schizophrenia. As Churchill said "up with which I will not put."
