Let’s be brutal about this. Which race, other than white, has been the driving force behind the worlds progress, mostly good but some bad, in the last 200 years?
Sophistry. To the extent there is a white race, western civ is the race’s creation and continues to power it. The massive flow of non-whites into western culture is a stark reminder of whose civ is superior. To argue otherwise is to buy into the idea that all cultures are equal, a leftist lie.

That’s not really true. Some scientists don’t believe in it, but that being a majority opinion is pretty limited to the West and seems to be a consequence of WWII, an overreaction to the Nazi race-based atrocities. Go to Russia or India or China or anywhere that they don’t really have a guilt complex from that period of history and opinions among scientists trend much more towards the existence of races in the human species.

Augustine’s heritage was mixed...his father was Roman, but Monica was his mother, which sounds like a Berber name—it sure doesn’t look Roman. In any case the “West” in antiquity was really the western Mediterranean, including Western Africa, because northern Europe was still quite pagan.
Islam eventually destroyed the Church in North Africa, but pockets survived into the 1200s-1300s. The Roman explicitly noted the dark skin of the Berber tribes.
Oh, and plus the Kingdom of Kongo was Catholic by the early 1500s, and remained so into the late 1800s.
For most of Western Church history, there were people in it who would today be considered black. And of course in the East, Ethiopia has always been Christian, so this conflation of Christianity with being white is pure balderdash.

Well it kind of does if the author is making the argument that St. Augustine is an example of a non-caucasian who was key to the development of Western civilization. If he actually was of Roman descent (Hippo being a Roman colony after all), then that argument doesn’t make any sense.

This is probably the gayest thing I've read all day. Of course different races exist. And of course most scientists, at least in the relevant fields, would accept this common sense truism. If not, then you have to wonder why they are so scrupulous about making sure that organ and other donors can match recipients - which most definitely depends on race, as well as other factors.
