I have had some experience in dealing with our "career diplomats" and I was shocked to see how many of them were homosexuals - bitchy, obstructive homosexuals. It's no wonder how our foreign policies get screwed up and how we get in trouble all over the place.

Looks like a sub rosa ending to what had become a nasty public spectacle. Whether this clown was torpedoed by someone back home or by himself put both the host country and the ally at odds. So I guess he was told it was time to resign, right after they supposedly supported his comment.
Someone once told me, believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear. Seem appropriate for this ending.
He will probably show up as a guest commentator on CNN.

yep. My husband was on Embassy duty and 2 of 3 embassies had fags in charge. This was late 80’s.

Depends on who's in power. Democracies are fickle, on both sides of the pond. But the UK is poised to leave the EU. That's an opportunity for the US.
