None of that security has ever been on. I use the mac list that allows only those devices onto the network. But I turned off that feature.

In Win 7, there is a "manage wireless networks" in the Network & Sharing center.

Because it is a used laptop, I would go there and look at how many wireless networks it has saved and delete all of them.

Or possibly "forget this network".

I don't have a Win 7 machine in front of me so doing this from memory.
