Hey Sub guy - how long can a sub stay hidden. At some point the crew needs to get off the sub - someone gets sick or dies - they run out of food, (unless they want to eat shrimp and fish all the time.)

Where do they go. It’s not like they can just pull up to any dock or port.

Can a deep state subs stay hidden and not surface for years??? If they do surface, would they be detected or can they surface in the middle of the ocean undetected?

I know nothing of subs. Here's what I found, though.

Diesel-electric subs can stay underwater a couple of days before they have to resurface.

Nuclear subs, OTOH, can theoretically stay underwater for years, because of the power supply, desalinization to create drinking water, and some gizmaroos that can extract oxygen from sea water combined with CO2 scrubbers and dehumidifiers.

Food supply on these subs is usually around 90 days, and people would probably start going crazy after a while. So, the limitations would be how much food they brought and human limitations.
