I'm in the medical field and have friends and family that are Doc's..
I know many people in the field that tell their patients how to help themselves.
You are correct-they do tell people how to help themselves. Our sons now retired allergist told him that getting his lungs stronger would help his asthma. Our son was around 11 years old. The advice stuck with him. At 19 he is a machine-has worked out daily for the past 7 years, keeps to an extremely healthy food regimen. Pollens and humidity still trigger his asthma as its pretty severe. But, he is a college wrestler; something I never envisioned when he was younger. A six minute match is a long push-sometimes he needs an inhaler, but not always.
