Yet she is critical of Trump's signature anti-establishment moves. Among them being pulling out of the Iran Nuclear Deal and boldly solidifying America's commitment to Jerusalem.
The Gabbards of the world would rather we play nice with the likes of Hamas, Hezbollah, and others...
So how should Trump respond to her points about Saudi Arabia?
Does she think Iran is an ally. Does she think Israel is not on our side. Inquiring minds would like to know.
They are a customer.
YUP..!
They regard us as PISS BOYS.
They want us to fight THEIR wars.
It's similar to Yemen, where the men actually fighting are mercs, mostly from Peru.
"When we need something, we'll hire some foreigners."
Not going to be lectured by any demoncRAT about playing “pretend”
She is correct.
The battle lines in the Saudi Kingdom mostly settle around the fundamentalist islamics versus those open to reforms - with a healthy dollop of money-grabbing on both sides.
Obama went over there and made major speech slamming his own country after he bowed to their king and she never said a word
She actually said Trump was Saudi Arabia’s Bitch, so I doubt there is anything he could say or do that would placate this woman. I doubt anyone is naïve enough to think Saudi Arabia acts in our best interests, but we can work with them and they give us a foothold in the Middle East that we need. It’s called diplomacy, and has been a policy of the US government for a very long time. If Gabbard doesn’t understand that basic concept she is definitely not ready for prime time.
Tulsi is forgetting Trump’s first foreign trip and what he clearly accomplished there.
A lot of people either forgot that, or never knew about it.
A Dem got something right. Pretend alliance w/ the home of the most radical form of Islam; for the sake of EU and other actual allies...
We are their blue-eyed mercenaries.
They keep their oil trade in US dollars, and buy weapons and other things from American companies. We in turn help them maintain and grow Sunni (and thus Saudi) supremacy in the Muslim world. Their strategic projection consists of the USA, and also their ability to form and direct groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS to achieve their foreign policy aims.
Is it a good deal for the USA? I’ll let others judge.
She is the type of candidate that could really give Trump some trouble among moderates and independents. She comes off as the least crazy of the entire bunch of candidates.
That being said, there is no way she will get the Democrat Party nomination. She’s reasonable and a vet. There is no way they will let her be their candidate.
Broken clock, blind squirrel.
Anyone who supports S.A. is as much of a traitor and threat to this country as a person can be.
Saudi Arabia is not an ally. It sells us things and buys things from us, and has enjoyed privileged status among nations. Bush the Second helped Saudis leave this country without problems right after 9/11.
They love getting money from us, and use it to fund the expansion of Islam. So, because of the special relationship of the Saudi Princes to this country, they get to give us the finger.
They are not our friends. Being enemies of Iran doesn’t make them our friends.
Just as soon as the Democrats stop pretending that the Soviet Union was ever an ally, or that the Russian Federation that was the successor to the Soviet Empire is essentially different in any fundamental way.
No nation ever really has “allies”. There are nations with whom we share common interests within a specified time period, but circumstances change, sometimes rather abruptly.
So Tulsi. given the geostrategic reality of the world energy flow, we get to choose which side of the Gulf we can work with to secure our permanent national interests which includes the energy supply to our allies.
And no, we are not in a position to replace Persian Gulf oil with US oil exports
So choose. Iran or Saudi?
Both nuc armed eventually.
Both amenable to supporting fundamentalist terrorism against the West
Unless she wants to cede the entire Region to China and Russia?
