good morning. Been keeping up as best possible. Been a bit down(understatement) and thus minimal posting. Just tired or complaining as much as you are of reading about it.
I have been on FB... doing mostly shares.
Will share the one fun thing I did (probably the first in MANY months).. went with my music man Bill to the Tall Ships festival in Cleveland harbor on Sunday. VERY hot and a tremendous amount of walking that was a killer for both me and my 88 year old date. with the admission ticket you could tour all the ships docked. BUT the lines were really long (1-2 hours in sun) so we didn’t do any.
We did take the Rapid.. Cleveland’s mass transit train in from Shaker Hts. The RTA station still involved a LOT of walking but less than the parking lots which were mostly a mile further away and parking fees started at 20.00
we got the all day rides for seniors for 2.75 each and really had fun on the train. Good thing we got the ride all day as in our lack of knowing which end is up we were on a couple wrong trains making the day a bit longer and more reason to laugh & be tourist out the windows.
Cleveland’s waterfront is quite nice. There is of course a HUGE port... but then there is the Browns stadium, Science Museus, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.. a docked huge freighter to tour, the coast guard station with a sub to tour, restaurants etc. I can recall growing up in the 60s and 70s what a disaster the lakefront was. Dirty, vagrants, unsafe, industrial. Come a long long way.
Been trying to follow your news here .. gets so doggone frustrating with the idiots left who is doing nothing good for our country and for the offices they are elected to but instead just fill their twisted minds with evil and hate.
I leave this afternoon for Amish country for a few nights. Getting two kitties spayed. HOPEFULLY two. I have Bobbie here inside but have not seen Charmy at my home for 3 days. The Amish country vert is much more reasonable. When I came to Ohio in early 90s I had a cat spayed ... total cost way back then was 195; Ill be getting both done for 100.
Next week hope to start the journey of medical work now that I have medicaid and won’t be guilty about no pay etc. If I can get any handle on health I really need to find a job of some sort. My property taxes here are 400/mo approx. About my social security amount. I am now in arrears with real estate taxes for about 6500. Not good.
Trying to work things out. Shuffling issues and problems takes up a lot of my time and all of my peace of mind.
I am sorry HM about your sweet pup dying.. and Rusty your health issues and I am sure many like me have a LOT going on with health but share just some.
Still enjoy cooking but with my newfound autoimmune issues I am really limited in what I am supposed to eat. I cheat a lot. Not good. Seems like every single thing I like to eat is on the no no list. I can eat most fruits but limited with veggies (no legumes, nightshades(includes tomatoes and potatoes) , no wheat/grain products, no dairy/eggs. Boring huh? Being already a vegetarian makes it more limited
take care. Must get things together and leave as it is a couple hours drive and I have a LOT to do. Must have cats there by 3 today for surgery tomorrow.
