I laughed at a lot of the forms. The earlier forms would have Santa letters, pictures of summer houses people were trying to rent, childrens drawings,bills, and you name it.

Stories Grandma tells about Census out in Montana ranch country about curl me into a ball for laughing.

Sixty miles between "towns" (anything over 100 people in a couple square miles + a store + gas station + MAYBE a Post Office), ten miles between mail boxes/dirt road to the associated house and major population changes limited to cow/calf units plus the occasional human birth/death that could be tabulated just by asking the store clerk.
