What about filling up 2 liter bottles from home water before the SHTF and storing it????

Absolutely. I guess I figured that was implied in my post - 28 gallons or 53 2 liter bottles. I keep about 8 under my dining table but I have plenty available in containers - about 150 gallons - plus the well with solar power for the pump. I get careless about refreshing those 2 liter bottles. If you do store them for any extended period probably a couple of drops of bleach in each would be indicated.

If you have the funds (~$35), the Water Bob is a good water storage item for when the S Hits the Fan. Even after the power goes out, there will be sufficient pressure in the waterlines to fill these up (if you’re on a city/county water system).

Store it in your linen closet. When you need it, put it in the bathtub and fill it up - 100 gallons of drinking water each. I have one in each bathroom.
