LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A Florida man cleared a canal like The Dukes of Hazzard before crashing the vehicle Wednesday and running from the scene, investigators said.
Authorities said Robert Foley, 35, jumped the water in a Nissan Versa and kept going until he hit a parked truck, WFTX reported.
Foley then fled the scene. Helicopters were used to find him.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for a broken back, WBBH reported.
Foley was later arrested and charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run, according to jail records.
His license was previously revoked, WBBH reported.

I recall the story (believe you can Google it) in which one of the very first General Lee stunt cars used (the one featured in the opening theme sequence jumping over Roscoe in his patrol car) was discovered in a junkyard near where they shot the first few episodes in the Covington/Conyers, GA area. The vehicle was identified as such with the plastic labels inside the hood saying “WB-2” or something to that effect. Vehicle was restored and is a proud exhibit at Dukes of Hazzard shows around the United States.
This sounds a little like the stunt Burt Reynolds did with the Maserati at the beginning of “The Longest Yard”. Who here remembers that one, lol?
"Hold on...I can feel the Percodan kicking in."
I do, but as I recall, it didn't turn out for the better.
Sounds like he did just a little bit more than the law will allow.
Grave yard cars rebuilt one.
It can be done.
Bo and Luke were just at “Back to the 50’s” in MN last weekend.
To his credit, he did clear the canal (You wouldn't think that would be possible in a Nissan Versa.)
Hahahahahaha...I love that picture! All the dejected losers in the background...but that guy is as proud as can be!
“...revoked divers licenses...”
Maybe if he had had a license he’d have made it. That would have made the difference. Maybe if he had had a straight jacket, he wouldn’t have tried it. They ought to charge him the fee for tracking him down and transporting him to the hospital. And post it on a bill board.

Hahaha now THATS funny!
LOL! Now if the climate whack jobs actually stated that upfront they would likely get a lot more support for their agenda!
Next time, use a Charger.
I know a guy who works for car commercial filming company. He told me they once had to film a car jumping something. The stunt driver crashed the car in practice, so they went and rented one for the ad.
Wow. My father had his back broken in a traffic crash, and there’s no way he could have ‘fled the scene.’ Florida man is a tough hombre.
