Stealth infections in gum, cracked teeth or abscesses. The teeth are literally a next door neighbor to the optic nerve or the optic chiasm.

The facial danger triangle area extends under the brain to the back of the throat, and provides a fairly direct route for infection of neural tissues such as olfactory and optic nerves, which lead to the brain. Surface infections of the facial skin (pimples) can migrate to other areas. It’s also a common route (nasal) for amoebic infections, instigated by a swim in freshwater during the warm summer months.
