Planet is entering ‘new climate regime’ with‘extraordinary’ heat waves intensified by global (T)

Simultaneous heat waves scorched land areas all over the Northern Hemisphere last summer, killing hundreds and hospitalizing thousands while intensifying destructive and deadly wildfires.

A study published this week in the journal Earth’s Future concludes that this heat wave epidemic “would not have occurred without human-induced climate change.”

The alarming part? There are signs record-setting heat waves are beginning anew this summer — signaling, perhaps, that these exceptional and widespread heat spells are now the norm.

In the past few days, blistering, abnormal heat has afflicted several parts of the Northern Hemisphere, including major population centers.

New Delhi, India’s capital, soared to 118.4 degrees (48 Celsius) Monday, its highest temperature ever recorded in June. Some parts of India have seen the mercury eclipse 122 degrees (50 Celsius) in recent days, not far off the country’s all-time high.

Okay there study folks, answer these:

1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.

2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.

3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.

4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.

5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.

6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.

7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

Hmmmm. What's that chirping sound?

I have never heard of the journal Earth’s Future. Must be published by Gaia worshippers.

And regarding the comment about the wildfires, could it be just that more people now are moving into areas where there was very little or no housing in those areas back in a year like 1960 or even 1980 and where the wildfires had always been part of the natural cycle?

I hear crickets when ever I ask certain questions of people such as those you mention here.

For example, I get no response or babbling, when I mention that we have seen sustained global warming which caused the end of various ice ages in Earth’s history. So then, wasn’t some global warming a good thing, I ask of some people I talk to.

Crickets or babbling is the response.

Isn’t the fact that we have seen climatic shifts in Earth’s history, happening well before the Industrial Revolution, clear evidence that there are natural cycles happening, which we probably don’t understand and have no control over anyway.

Again, no coherent response.

And again, I get no coherent response, to questions about, even if the worst happens, won’t we adapt to such changes?

That must be why the furnace came on in my basement day before yesterday. Middle of June, and the heat is running.

Setting the stage for the end of the current paucity of Sun spots, blaming “man, er, ‘human’-made climate change” for the Sun’s cyclical effects?

More wildfires means, really, that the jihadis have discovered another way to destroy stuff. All it takes is a match, and they can bring chaos to whatever order good folks have worked hard to achieve.

also ask them “If CO2 from man is driving climate change, why do ice core samples ALWAYS show rising temperatures first, and then, 800 years later, show an increase in CO2?”

To claim CO2 is causing climate change when CO2 doesn’t rise for 100’s of years after the temperatures rise is like saying that someone who never ate sugar of any kind- at all, who got diabetes, and had it for 70+ or so years, then one day eats sugar, and the science community comes along and says that it’s the sugar that caused the 70+ years of diabetes in this person

He must be using a ‘nom de plume’ these days. So, for the ‘true believers’ out there might I suggest either you totally eschew the use of ANYTHING related to ‘fossil(?)’ fuels/petroleum products or totally remove yourself from the equation. I believe the latter would be easier. Just don’t use the closed garage/running car method.

Define how one “average” temperature can be determined for the earth in a way that is not off by 1 or 2 degrees.

I suppose they only consider information from when “records” started being kept. Anything before that doesn’t count. Or something. You know how libs like to erase history.

We not only have to pay steep taxes, but we also need to buy our carbon credits from Al Gore.

I’m remiss in my duties. I never bought my carbon credits.

Heck I never even contributed to the Clinton Foundation. I’m in big trouble with the powers that be.
