There’s no hole in my theory. The right ignores and disdains artistic creativity and now we have two or three generations of people who brag that they do not understand or appreciate modern art the way fools once argued that they didn’t understand or appreciate impressionism. My recent use of the words “Les Demoiselles D’Avignon” was called “mumbo-jumbo” by someone on FR who didn’t even know I was using a place name.
Happily, the dogs bark and the caravan moves on.
There are many, many, many forms of artistic creativity. A hard-core scientist is as much an artist as any paint-dauber. So is a master tool and die maker.
Picasso's work is simply ugly. And the fools who have an elephant crap on a canvas, hang the canvas on the wall, and call it "art" are idiots.
