There is no way,shape or form that Weintraub is correctly interpreting the "anything of value" phrase in the statute. It wouldn't stand up to a 1st amendment free speech test.
The FEC - via statute - allows a foreign national to be an unpaid volunteer on a U.S. election campaign. But if this volunteer has dirt on my opponent, he can't tell me ? Good luck with that.
just to get it out there - Weintraub is a RAT. Her term expired 2007. Why is she still there ?
