“There are no rocks sitting close together in Normandy.”

Well, there are some.

But those rocks have been hewn into crosses and thousands upon thousands of them are lined up in rows and they bear the names of the men who lay beneath them. They were lovingly placed there in the 1940’s by careful workers following more funerals than should ever be counted.

They were not placed there by a craven publicity team in 1994.

Yup. There sure are. But I think Sasparilla was referring to the rocks on the sandy beach (that Clinton "found"), rather than to rock slabs & crosses in the cemeteries above the beaches.
