I would have figured higher, just based on my experience around such people.
This is a good thing. People with severe mental illnesses, that dont allow them to function in our society, need to be fully under care of their families or else they need to be removed from public life for their own safety and hygiene and that of the public.
Freedom is not free for the incapacitated. They need to be kept secure and cared for in a decent place. We need tax dollars to care for our least fortunate brothers and sisters with mental incapacities. From mental illnesses to Alzheimers, we owe them all safe, happy places where they can try to find potential ways to reintegrate into society or if not, to be well cared for through their days.
Keep telling yourself that.
Don’t need to “tell myself” that.
I see it on my own streets, actually talk to addicts and volunteer with groups that help them. Disease rates of actual people have no doubt decreased when they gained the ability to have clean needles. People who are not infected with disease are far more likely to stop using and cannot infect others.
So we need big government to do this? It was big government that caused these problems.
We need tax dollars to care for our least fortunate brothers and sisters with mental incapacities :
LIke they say, "If you remember the 60s, you weren't there." :-)
Blue Oyster Cult - This Ain’t The Summer of Love
Feeling easy on the outside
But not so funny on the inside
Feel the sound, pray for rain
For this is the night we ride
This ain’t the garden of Eden
There ain’t no angels above
And things ain’t like what they used to be
And this ain’t the summer of love
Lock all your doors from the outside
The key will dangle by the inside
You may begin to understand
That this is the night we ride
This ain’t the garden of Eden
There ain’t no angels above
And things ain’t like what they used to be
And this ain’t the summer of love
On the night we ride, this ain’t the summer of love.
This ain’t the garden of eden
There ain’t no angels above
And things ain’t like what they used to be
And this ain’t the summer of love
This ain’t the summer, this ain’t, this ain’t
This ain’t the summer of love
