There was a side note to the Alaska story. Hillary Clinton visited Alaska the summer after she graduated from Wellesley in 1969. She claimed to have worked in a fish cannery and there's evidence that she worked in a hotel. While she was there, the Life magazine article came out about her graduation address at Wellesley. Some wonder what she was really doing in Alaska.

She went to Alaska with a friend and classmate, Sandi Servaas, with family connections to the Saturday Evening Post. Six years later, Servaas was gruesomely murdered ("ambushed in the foyer with a crowbar and pickax") for no known reason. The murderer was never identified.
