It is a moot question. We have had 2 presidents that were impeached by the House Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Neither were removed from office.
Whether the House impeaches is irrelevant ... the Senate will never convict.
The only president to leave office before his term was over was Richard Nixon, and he was never impeached at all. He only resigned to save the office and the country from going through the circus.
But... both Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson had broken the law prior to impeachment and were impeached for their crimes. Andrew Johnson believed that the law he broke was unconstitutional, and it was eventually overturned by the Supreme Court, but at the time it was against the law. President Trump has not broken any laws. I don’t see how they have any constitutional basis for bringing articles of impeachment.
Do you honestly believe the Senate won’t convict? I count 61 votes right now FOR impeachment in the Senate. All the Democrats (47) will vote yes, joined by Sasse, Romney, Murkowski, Collins and the other RINOs, including McConnell! Heck, it would even be payback time for Cruz and Rubio.
When it gets to the Senate, all bets are off. Keep your powder dry.
Lowlife Democrats (but I repeat myself) have been seeking revenge since Bill Clinton was impeached.
