And I enjoy my operas without sub-titles.
Corollary... people who like rap are generally imbeciles.
Most of the music I listen to today is non-English, mostly Polish, I just really like how the language sounds.
But do they prefer YYZ or Mozart?
Of course that's to be expected from a deplorable like me who spends his free time stinking up my local WalMart.
Yo, yo, yo...like rap made me Mr Smart...
Like, who listens to the words of this masterpiece?

I think maybe it’s a song about John Bolton.
“I would have made this instrumental, but the words got in the way.....”

Yippee! How about playing a couple of bars of the Lone Ranger theme, then. Or the Quaker Oats song. How about that crowd favorite from the Ronco Spaghetti commercial.
Ain’t got no culture, sheeeit! I always take dishes dishes out of the sink before I piss.
“There’s a tear in my beer
Cause I’m cryin for you, dear”
Really smart people cannot listen to the illogic of jazz.
As one of my kids noted, almost all jazz concerts are free because no one wants to pay for ear mush.
Me love lyrix!
I may put on ‘In Memory of Elizabeth Reed’, that’s a great instrumental.
I enjoy mededevil madrigals and early chants.
Otherwise classical, big band and crooners.
How is this different than saying asians are smarter than black people?
Does it mean ALL people that listen to instrumental only are smarter or that switching to instrumental only makes you smarter? No it doesn’t.
Just like not all Asians are smart or all black people are athletic.
99% of “singers” cannot sing worth crap. It’s mostly shouting, screaming, bellowing, monotonic drones, and off-key chanting. There are very few people who can truly sing. There is no true singing on today’s popular music or rap.
Operas are part drama, so whenever I first attend or watch an opera that is new to me, I treat them like I would a play or film, which means I don’t read the synopsis or libretto ahead of time, and I utilize sub/surtitles. Second, third, fourth, etc. viewings are another matter.
DIT DEE DEE DAW...
DIT DEE DEE DAAAAAAW!
Why would anyone only listen to one kind of music?
